Women for Economic Justice
Chicago, IL
Ana Romero Diaz is a Mexican sociologist and decolonial feminist. She is Co-Founder of Women for Economic Justice and Casa de Activismo Comunitario Domitila Barrios. These organizations have departed from the hierarchical non-profit model of operation and are driven by the community, primarily by immigrant Latino women, whose vision is to transform a culture of hyper-individualism to a culture of community solidarity and mutual aid.

During her 30 years of social activism, Ana has had the privilege to collaborate with a wide gamut of organizations in U.S., Mexico, Spain, France, Philippines and South Africa. She is the Mexico and U.S. representative of Nosakhele (Zulu for Building), an international network funded by NoVo Foundation, to advance Black and decolonial feminist frameworks geared to strengthen regional women of color grassroots movements.
